f(x)'s Luna to take stage for first performance of "Legally Blonde" this week

Luna from K-pop idol group f(x) will give her first performance as the leading lady of musical "Legally Blonde" this week, according to her agency SM Entertainment on Tuesday.

SM announced in a press release that Luna will take the stage as Elle Woods at COEX's Artrium on February 4, while the lead role will be rotated by Kim Ji-woo and Choi Sung-hee, former member of female group S.E.S.

"Luna is doing such a great job adjusting to the atmosphere that it's hard to believe this is her first time taking part in a musical," an official from the musical was quoted as saying. "She is working really hard and she will show something new through her role as Elle Woods."

"Legally Blonde" is based on the 2001 Hollywood hit movie of the same name starring actress Reese Witherspoon which accumulated 90 million dollars in the United States alone and first opened on Broadway in 2007.

The latest version of the musical in Korea kicked off in November last year and previously won the award for best choreography at the 4th annual "The Musical Awards."

Luna made her debut as one of the lead vocalists for girl group f(x) in 2009. Composed of other members Victoria, Sulli, Krystal and Amber, f(x) has produced a number of hit songs including “LA chA TA" and "NU ABO."

The girls recently signed an exclusive contract with Japanese talenthouse AVEX and will expand their singing career into Japan.
