American singer-songwriter Musiq Soulchild gave his first ever concert in Korea over the weekend at a two-day soul music fest.


The famed soul singer took to the stage of the Seoul Soul Festival 2010, held at the War Memorial of Korea on October 9, opened by by Korean singers Se7en and Taeyang.

Musiq Soulchild gave a non-stop performance, heating up the crowd with his hit songs such as "Seventeen," "Caughtup" and "Just Friends." He continued his concert with several more of his tunes including “Until,” “Betterman” “Halfcrazy” as well as introducing a new song “Takeme.”


The three-hour long music fest wrapped up with Musiq Soulchild giving an encore performance of with “Mygirl,” “Forthenight” and “GreatestLove” which he called his favorite song.

Meanwhile, the night began with opening acts by singers Se7en and Big Bang member Taeyang. Se7en warmed up the stage with his latest song “Digital Bounce” followed by his U.S. debut single “Girls,” the latter produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jenkins and featuring female rapper Lil’ Kim.


His set also included the all English lyric song “Money Can’t Buy Me Love” and his past hits “La la la” with an encore of “Passion.”


Taeyang hit the stage with the track “Prayer” from his debut solo mini-album “Hot” and continued his performance with “I’ll Be There,” “Just a Felling” and “I Need a Girl.”

He also sang several tracks from his first full-length album “Solar” including “Superstar,” “Break Down” and returned to the stage with “Where U At.”


Musiq Soulchild took the stage once again the following night for the Seoul Soul Festival 2010, this time with opening performances by U.S. rapper Sean Kingston and former boy band member Jay Park.
