"Dong Yi" captures No. 1 spot for seventh week

Ratings for MBC's series "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" shown a slight decrease this week but remained the most-watched show in the country on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Statistics from AGB Nielsen Media Research revealed that the viewership rating for "Dong Yi" declined by an average of 0.8 percent from last week. The show brought in ratings of 24.6 percent on May 24 and 22.4 percent the next day.

Figures released by TNS Media Korea indicated that the historical epic scored an average rating of 24 percent this week, a 1.3 percent drop from the previous week’s average.

This week's episode focused on the death of the king and the dethronement of the queen.

Meanwhile the ratings for SBS' new series "Giant," about three siblings seeking revenge for their parents' death, showed promise by gaining close to two percent on both charts compared to last week.
