K-pop idol group SHINee has been set to attend an awards ceremony in Singapore this weekend, according to their agency on Wednesday.

SM Entertainment announced through a press release that the boy band was invited to appear at the 2nd Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA) hosted by Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese media on March 13.

The SEA supports the Chinese entertainment industry and recognizes talents in the business every year.

SHINee will be one of the many stars, including Singaporean-Chinese singer JJ Lin and Hong Kong singer-actor Eason Chan, to show up at the event.

The ceremony, to be held at The Float at Marina Bay, will air in Hong Kong, China and Australia through Singaporean communication company Star Hub.

SHINee had begun touring Asia starting early this year to promote their album and title track "Ring Ding Dong" through concerts, autograph sessions and fan meetings in several countries throughout the region.

Their activities included performing at the "Oh Joon-sung Drama Concert" in Singapore in late January, the "2010 Countdown" concert in Hong Kong in mid-February, and singing the finale song at Cambodia's "Heart 2 Heart" event the following week.

The five-member group, composed of members Jonghyun, Taemin, Onew, Minho and Key, made their debut in 2008 with their first mini-album "Replay."

The group will return to Korea next week to start preparing for a new album.
