“New Moon” tops Korean box office reservations

Hollywood film “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” starring actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, ranked first on Korea's movie reservation charts on Wednesday, according to its local distributor on Wednesday.

The movie, released in Korea today, had the highest ticket reservation rate on many online websites including Max Movie, Interpark, Naver and Ticketlink, Pan Cinema said in a press release.

The film has maintained a firm grip on the U.S. box office since its release on November 20, topping the chart two weeks in a row to rake in over a total of 230 million dollars with the first 10 days of its opening.

The film, which has started a so-called 'New Moon Syndrome', has also been faring well on the foreign circuit, making a first-place bow in various countries such as North America, Europe and South America.

"New Moon" added on actress Dakota Fanning to its original cast from the prequel "The Twilight".
