K-pop queens Girls' Generation has soared to the top spot on Apple's iTunes chart in Japan with their new song "The Boys."


"The Boys," from the girls' third full-length album released in Korea and overseas through Apple's iTunes yesterday, ranked in at No. 1 under Apple iTune's top singles chart in Japan and No. 93 on the U.S. chart.

The song has also taken the No. 126 spot on France's singles chart, No. 65 on New Zealand's chart and No. 71 in Australia.


In the meantime, Girls' Generation made a successful comeback to the local music scene with "The Boys" which topped a number of online music charts upon its release yesterday while the music video for the song has reached over 3.3 million views.

Girls' Generation will officially expand their music career into the United States under major record label Interscope Records with the release of their single "The Boys" next month.


"The Boys" was produced by famed American producer Teddy Riley who has worked with international artists such as the late Michael Jackson and Lady GaGa.

Girls' Generation, composed of members Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung, will give their comeback performance on KBS' "Music Bank" on October 21.
