Secret places in top ten on Oricon's weekly chart with "Madonna"

Female idols Secret has placed within the top ten on Oricon's weekly music chart with their single album, making them the third Korean girl group to do so.

A press release from their agency TS Entertainment announced that Secret's Japanese debut single "Madonna" came in at No. 9 on Oricon's weekly chart after selling 13,124 copies since it went on sale on August 3.

"We feel that the girls are off to a good start with their debut single 'Madonna' placing within the top ten just like other girl groups such as Girls' Generation and KARA," an official from TS was quoted as saying.

Secret, composed of members Jun Hyo-seong, Han Sun-hwa, Song Ji-eun and Zinger, made their official debut into Japan in early August with their single "Madonna" which is originally the title track to the group's second mini-album in Korea for which they topped a number of music charts in the country.

They had already released the music video for "Madonna" in mid-June and visited the country early this month for a showcase in Tokyo and have met with for handshaking events in Tokyo's Tokyo Dome City on August 6 and at the Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka the following day.

Locally, the girls have promoted their hit song "Moonlight Starlight" which scored them several wins on various televised music programs.
