Girl group f(x)’s new song “Hot Summer” entered music cable channel Mnet’s weekly singles chart as of the third week of June in first place.

“Hot Summer,” the title track to the girls' repackaged album “Hot Summer’ f(x) 1st Album Repackage” released last Tuesday, is a dance pop tune featuring strong sounds of the synthesizer and powerful beats to express the steamy weather.

Male ballad group 4Men’s love song “At Least Just Once” which had claimed the No. 1 spot on the previous chart came second this time after being knocked down by the newcomer.

“At Least Just Once” which is the title song to 4Men’s fourth album “The Artist” that went on sale two weeks ago, contains lyrics that prays for the happiness of one’s lost love but also of wanting to come across that person one more time.

Girl group Secret’s dance melody “Starlight Moonlight” that came second last time was also pushed back a step to settle at No. 3.

“Starlight Moonlight” whose song is themed on love, romance and nostalgia of the 60s and 70s, is from Secret's second single released early this month.

Meanwhile on the albums chart, 4Men’s fourth album “The Artist” composed of a total 13 love ballads stayed No. 1 for the second consecutive week.

Other tracks on the album are performing well on the chart too, having placed four more songs such as "I Love You," "My Girlfriend" and "Crush" within top 20 slots of the latest Mnet singles chart.

Albums that claimed second and third spot on the chart were both from public broadcaster MBC’s music reality show “I’m A Singer” that invites seven renowned singers in the country to compete with each other through a special mission.

“I'm A Singer Competition 4-2” which was released on June 12 climbed 18 steps to reach second place.

The mission for this particular album was to sing songs chosen by the audience on the televised concert in which singer Kim Bum-soo came out the winner with singer Nam Jin’s past song “With My Love” (translated title).

“Competition 3-2,” which was released on May 22 and whose mission was for singers to perform to the songs recommended by netizens, succeeded in maintaining third place on the chart for another week as well.
