Singer Jay Park's latest release has placed within several lists on the prestigious U.S. Billboard charts
Park's solo mini-album "TAKE A DEEPER LOOK" has made its debut at third place on Billboard's World Albums chart, which is ranked by sales data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan, and came in at No. 26 on the Heatseekers album chart for new or developing artists that have never appeared on the top 100 of the Billboard chart, according to the Billboard as of March 14.
Just a week into its release, "TAKE A DEEPER LOOK" soared to No. 1 on Apple's iTunes albums charts in Canada and Denmark as well as placing in the top ten in Japan, Norway and seven other countries.
The album, which went on sale in Korea on April 27, had received over 50,000 preorders and went into preparations for 20,000 additional copies to be made.
It is composed of a total seven tracks including its title track “Abandoned,” and other songs such as “Touch The Sky,” “Level 1000,” and “Don’t Let Go.”
Park took part in producing and writing lyrics for the entire album as well as composing six out of the seven songs.
Other notable musicians that took part in making the album include Kang Min-kyung from duo band Davichi, Dok2, The Quiett and composer Cha Cha Malone.
Park, whose Korean name is Park Jae-beom, made his debut as a member of 2PM in 2008 but parted with the group early last year after stirring controversy over remarks he wrote regarding Korea during his trainee period.
