4minute’s “Mirror Mirror” tops weekly Mnet chart
Girl group 4minute’s “Mirror Mirror" jumped six steps to top music cable channel Mnet’s singles chart during the week of April 11 to 17.
“Mirror Mirror,” from title track to 4minute’s first full-length album “4MINUTES LEFT” released in mid-April, is a powerful dance number whose music video features members featuring new movements within various rooms with mirrors.
The song itself sings of a girl who asks a mirror why she cannot draw attention from a certain guy, based on the motif from fairytale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
Male band Big Bang’s “LOVE SONG” landed at the No. 2 spot after climbing six steps from the previous chart.
“LOVE SONG,” co-composed and written by G-Dragon and Teddy, is one of the two title tracks to the group’s special edition album that sings of a guy missing his lover who has died.
About 200 million won went into shooting its black and white music video which mobilized four big cranes and high-tech cameras shot from above to capture the lone sentiment of the song.
Lee Hyun's "Although You Said So," which is a ballad that half pleads and half chastises a girl for changing her mind to choose another, debuted at No. 3 on the chart.
Meanwhile, on the albums’ chart, “I’m A Singer: Competition 2 - Swapping Hit Songs” held onto the first place for a third consecutive week.
The album from MBC’s reality show “I’m A Singer” released in late March contains seven hit songs from the past sung in different versions by singers who competed on the show which took place three weeks ago.
Big Bang’s special edition album released early this month, placed at No. 2 after going up two steps.
The album, made up of 10 tracks include hit songs from their fourth mini-album as well as double title songs “LOVE SONG” and “STUPID LIAR”
Rock band CNBLUE’s first regular album “FIRST STEP,” meanwhile, slid down a notch to take the No. 3 spot from the previous chart.
