So Ji-sub gearing up for boxer role
Actor So Ji-sub is undergoing intensive training for his role as a boxer in his upcoming film co-starring actress Han Hyo-joo.
A press release by his agency 51K said Monday that So, set to take on a former boxer named Chul-min in film "Only You," is building on his basic physical strength through aerobic exercises and jump rope, while receiving all-out training in punching the sandbag, shadow-boxing and sparring as well.
So, who is athletic and has worked out regularly, is adapting and learning the sport quickly, 51K explained in the statement, the thorough preparation coming particularly for a scene where he will play a match against another boxer to be taken on by actual K1 fighter Whi Seung-bae.
So's character Chul-min, who makes a living by delivering water and managing a parking lot, will have a rough personality yet sacrifice his all for a girl gradually losing her eyesight, to be played by Han Hyo-joo.
