Kim Hyun-joong set to release solo album in May

Korean idol Kim Hyun-joong will release his solo album in May, making him the fourth SS501 member to launch a solo singing career.

"He is currently selecting the tracks to be included in his upcoming album," a PR official from his agency KEYEAST explained to 10Asia over the phone. "We are hoping to release the album sometime in May but nothing is set in stone as of right now."

When asked if Kim would embark on promotional events overseas, the official said they have yet to decide on his activities in other countries as of yet.

Kim made his debut as the leader of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005. He became a household name throughout Asia, starring in KBS’ smash hit series “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009.

He played the role of Baek Sung-jo in “Naughty Kiss," the Korean small screen adaptation of the Japanese comic “Itazura na Kiss" last year and has visited various countries in Asia for promotional events.
