"Hell Boy" director and actor to visit Korea

Hollywood movie director Guillermo del Toro and actor Ron Perlman will be visiting Korea for a film fest at the end of October.

A press release from the Seoul International Family Film Festival on Tuesday announced that the famed director and Perlman from Hollywood fantasy series "Hell Boy" will fly into Korea on October 27 and attend a press conference for the film fest the following day.

Del Toro scored his big break in 1993, winning nine academy awards in Mexico and the International Critics Week prize at the Cannes Film festival for his movie "Cronos."

He also helmed the vampire sequel "Blade II" in 2002 and found success through the comic-book inspired film "Hell Boy."

Perlman has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Jude Law and Elijah Wood. He has worked in various independent films such as "Sleepwalkers" (1992) and "Cronos" (1993) and mainstream movies "Alien: Resurrection" (1997) and the "Hell Boy" series.

The Seoul International Family Film Festival, which opens from October 27 to November 2 at a Songpa CGV, features 126 movies from over 32 countries. The film festival focuses on the slogan and image of the meaning of family through films and various medias.
