Korean action film "Arrow The Ultimate Weapon" stayed in the No. 1 position in the weekend box office for the fourth week in a row.

"Arrow," starring Park Hae-il, Ryoo Seung-ryong and Moon Chae-won, sold 420,768 tickets during the weekend of September 2 to 4, according to the data released by the Korean Box Office System (KOBIS) on Monday.

The film tells of the story of how Na-mi (Park) leaves his village to find his younger sister named Ja-in (Moon) who is missing after their village is attacked by the Chung Dynasty of China during the Joseon Dynasty.

Song Kang-ho and Shin Se-gyeong starrer "Hindsight," which opened on August 31, made its debut at the No. 2 spot after selling 259,944 tickets while Hollywood flick "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," featuring actors James Franco and Freida Pinto, slipped to third place with 240,174 admits.

In the meantime, Korean animation feature "Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild," voiced by Moon So-ri, Yoo Seung-ho Choi Min-sik and Park Chul-min, became the first local cartoon to attract over two million viewers in Korean box office history.

Having opened in theaters on July 27, "Leafie," based on a popular children's novel of the same name, tells the adventure of a hen who leaves her chicken farm to realize her dream of hatching her own egg.

The movie has received attention overseas as well, having been pre-sold to Turkey, Indonesia and China at this year's Cannes Film Festival and invited for screening at the 44th annual Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival next month.

Other movies on the top ten of the box office chart include "Colombiana," "Blind," "Unstoppable Family," "The Smurfs," "3 Idiots" and "Pain."
