Hollywood blockbuster "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" remained the most popular film in South Korea for the second week, proving that the action flick is no match against its competitors.

Data released by the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) indicated that "Transformers 3" kept its No. 1 spot on the local box office, selling 1,670,120 tickets between July 8 to 10 and accumulating nearly 5.9 million admissions since its release on June 29.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon," starring actors Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel, tells of how Sam Witwicky (LaBeouf) helps in the fight against the Autobots and Decepticons who try to figure out the secret of the Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the moon.

Newly released Korean horror pic "The Cat," starring actress Park Min-young, entered the chart in second place with 302,174 admits, while "Sunny," Yoo Ho-jeong, Sim Eun-gyeong and Jin Hee-kyeong, dropped a notch to No. 3 with 268,295 tickets sold.

Korean action movie "Poongsan" and DreamWork's animation "Kung Fu Panda 2" also went down a spot compared to last week selling 75,029 and 61,140 tickets, respectively.
