“A Song For First-Time Lovers” rises up to No.1 on Mnet chart
“A Song For First-Time Lovers” by Jung Yong-hwa of boy band CNBLUE placed on top of music cable channel Mnet’s weekly singles chart during the week of January 17 to 23.
The tune, a ballad which was originally a duet song sung by Jung and his make-believe married with Seohyun of Girls' Generation from MBC reality show “We Got Married,” climbed five steps from the previous week to reach the top of the chart.
Meanwhile, “Shy Boy,” a cheerful love song by girl band Secret, slipped down a notch to take second place on the chart. The mood and the style of the song incorporates the style of American music from the 1960s.
Seungri of boy band Big Bang’s electronic dance number “WHAT CAN I DO” from his album “Seungri’s 1st Mini Album V.V.I.P.” debuted at No.3 on the chart. This is the first solo album by the youngest member of the five-member boy band.
The record debuted at No.1 on the albums chart however, pushing back previous winner G-Dragon and T.O.P’s first duo album “GD&T.O.P” to second place.
Seungri, GD and T.O.P are all part of the five-member band Big Bang but are pursuing individual or unit activities for now. Big Bang as a whole team, is set for a comeback next month.
Female singer IU's EP album "Real" stayed third on the albums chart for the second consecutive week.
