Girls' Generation crowned best artist award by major online music site

Korean female idols Girls' Generation has collected another year-end music award, winning the prize for best artist of the year on major online music website Soribada.

A press release from online music site Soribada on Monday announced that the girls topped the music trends chart and was the most-searched artist on the website during 2010.

The girls had taken over the No. 1 spot on Soribada's weekly music chart for seven weeks straight with songs "Oh," "Run Devil Run" and "Hoot," successively.

Soribada's awards are given to artists based on the number of searches an artist received on Korean portal site Naver and the number of song streams and downloads from January 1 till December 10.

Other noteworthy winners included 2AM for best male group, miss A for best new artist, singers IU and Huh Gak as best female and male solo artists, respectively, "BONAMANA" by Super Junior for best music video Ke$ha for best international star.
