K-pop idol group Girls' Generation has topped the music chart in the Philippines with their new album, according to their agency on Thursday.

The group's second mini-album "Tell Me Your Wish", released in the Philippines on October 3, reached No. 1 on the Odyssey chart , SM Entertainment announced in a press release.

For the week of September 28 to October 4, "Wish" was the top-selling album overall -- amongst both local and foreign artists -- according to the weekly sales chart released by Philippine's biggest record and video store franchise.

The Philippines Daily Inquirer, a major daily newspaper in the country, reported on the girl band's chart-topping album and the popularity of Korean pop music in its Tuesday issue.
