MBC's historical drama "Queen Seon-deok" has reigned the small screen since its premiere, remaining atop television charts for the past 18 weeks, according to statistics released on Tuesday.


The episode which aired Monday scored a national viewership rating of 41.6 percent to keep the show at the top, despite a 0.7 percent decrease from last week's rating of 42.3 percent, TNS Media Korea said.

The story is about Queen Seon-deok from the Silla Dynasty, the twenty-seventh ruler and the first reigning queen of the period. The show stars two of the most successful actresses in Korea, Lee Yo-won and Ko Hyeon-jeong .


Airing in the same time slot, KBS2 TV's "Princess Returns" and SBS's "Dream" scored viewership ratings of 4.8 and 3.3 percent, respectively.
