Shinhwa member Kim Dong-wan has excited his local fans by announcing a fan meeting opening this weekend.

His agency Liveworks Company said in a press release Thursday that the singer and actor will meet the fans in the flesh at the event titled, "2012 KIM DONG WAN Fanmeeting in 'THE PRESENT' in Korea," set to open at Seoul's Yonsei University on Sunday.

At the upcoming meet-and-greet Kim will perform several hit songs and play the guitar in front of some 2,000 fans, the reps added.

“Kim first suggested opening this fan meeting for his fans who have always supported him,” a Liveworks official was quoted as saying in the statement.

Making his debut in 1998 as one of the lead singers in the six-member boy band Shinhwa, Kim Dong-wan has expanded his career into acting by starring in several dramas including "Goodbye Sadness" (KBS, 2005) and "My Dearest Love" (SBS, 2007).
