Jang Keun-suk meets with fans at 3rd leg of Asia tour in Thailand
Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk met with his fans during the third leg of his Asia tour in Thailand over the weekend, according to his agency Ytree Media.
On Wednesday, Ytree announced in a press release that Jang opened the Thailand leg of his tour "THE CRI SHOW" with his Japanese debut single "Let Me Cry" at the Impact Hall 2 located in Thailand on May 28.
"I get a different kind of joy when I'm performing on stage as a singer than as an actor," Jang was quoted as saying. "I feel like I get energized whenever I hear my fans sing along and cheer for me. I want to thank them for supporting me and showing their love."
The show, which lasted for two hours, continued with several more of his hit songs, autograph and photograph sessions, and interviews with local media outlets afterwards.
Jang set off on his six-country Asia tour in late April and so far has visited Singapore and Hong Kong, while being slated to meet with fans in Malaysia, Taiwan and Shanghai.
Jang, one of Korea's most popular celebrities in the region since starring in 2009 Korean TV series "He's Beautiful" opposite actress Park Shin-hye, has been enjoying much popularity in Taiwan.
His latest drama "Marry Me, Mary" is the most-watched show on cable television in the country and was voted No. 1 on a poll asking which Korean star would make the perfect lover.
Most recently, Jang topped Japan's prestigious Oricon weekly chart with his debut single in the country, making him the first male artist in 30 years to achieve the feat.
He is also working on the upcoming film "You're My Pet" (translated title) alongside actress Kim Ha-neul.
