The Boss debuts No. 6 on Oricon daily chart
Korean boy group The Boss has seen a smooth start to its debut in Japan, placing sixth on Japan’s prestigious Oricon chart with their debut single in the country.
On Thursday, Oricon's daily chart showed that the five-member band’s album "Love Power” ranked at No. 6 in just a day of the record's official release.
"Love Power," which is the group's debut single in the country, is composed of three tracks including the title track of the same name which is a song of a bright and cheerful atmosphere.
The song also claimed fourth place on the daily ringtone chart of Japan’s biggest mobile website RecoChoku on April 10.
“The members of the group can't believe they entered the Oricon chart so soon," an official at the group's agency Open-World Entertainment was quoted as saying in a statement released today.
The Boss, whose name in Chinese characters is “大國男兒,” stands for “The Boys of Super Space” and is composed of members Hyun-min, Injun, Jay, Karam and Mika.
The group made its debut in Korea in March of last year with their single album “The Admirer” and released their second album “Awake” three months later.
