Top Korean actor Hyun Bin will be able to attend the Berlin International Film Festival next month, according to his agency AM Entertainment on Monday.

The actor, along with actress Lim Soo-jung, had been invited to this year's Berlinale with their film "Come Rain, Come Shine" which has been picked to compete for the top honor of the Golden Bear at the fest, but he had to receive permission by the Korean government first since he is set to enter the military in early March as part of fulfilling the country's two-year mandatory military service.

"The Military Manpower Administration has authorized Hyun Bin to depart for Germany which he will do so on February 15 with Lim," said an official at AM.

The official went onto explain that upon arrival in Berlin, the two will take part in the official screening and press conference for their film on February 17 and hold interviews with overseas media outlets the following day.

Hyun Bin will also be able to promote his movie "Late Autumn," a romantic film co-starring Chinese actress Tang Wei which will be screened under the forum category, at the 61st edition of the fest to be held from February 10 to 20 this year.

"Come Rain, Come Shine," helmed by director Lee Yoon-ki, tells about a married couple (played by Hyun Bin and Lim) who have been married for five years but get ready to separate after Lim's character falls in love with another man.
