Bae Yong-joon's book nominated as top 50 best literary works in China
Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon's book has been nominated one of the 50 publications up for an award in China recognizing the best literary works from the year 2010, according to a press release by the actor's agency KEYEAST on Monday.
KEYEAST announced through its statement that the Chinese version of Bae's photo essay "A Journey in Search of Korea's Beauty" is one of the nominations under the category of lifestyle for the award sponsored by major news firm China's Beijing News, making it the first Korean publication in seven years to enter the list.
A shortlist will be drawn up after judges review ten books each in five categories including culture, society, history, business and arts and lifestyle, after which they will pick the top six books of the year.
Bae's book, containing photographs of various cultural artisans and introductions to Korean culture and travel locations, was first released in September 2010 and has been printed in Korea, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese and most recently in English.

It has also been made into a television documentary showing Bae's travels through a video featuring the photographs and writings from the photo essay.
