Argentinian electro tango band Bajofondo will be visiting Korea later this month to give a concert.

The eight-member band, led by noted musician and film composer Gustavo Santaolalla, will be performing at Seoul's AX Hall on August 28 at 7 p.m.

This will be Bajofondo's first solo concert in the country although the group had previously performed in Korea in 2008 at the Ulsan World Music Festival.

The upcoming concert will feature songs from the band's third album "Mar Dulce," which was released in 2007. Several tracks from the record such as "Grand Guignol", "Pa' Bailar" and "Infiltrado" gained popularity in Korea after they were featured in local television commercials.

Originally called the "Bajofondo Tango Club," the group released their self-titled debut album in 2003 and second album "Remixed" two years later.

They became known for their tango and electronic music style, and was credited for reviving tango in the mainstream. However, they shortened the band name to "Bajofondo" in 2008, feeling that their music had broadened to other genres as well.

He won the Academy Award for Original Music Score for two consecutive years; for "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005 and "Babel" in 2006.
