Korean film "Take Off" stayed atop Korean box office for the fifth week in a row, thanks to the release of its director's cut version on Thursday.


"Off" took in 258,651 viewers over the weekend of September 11 to 13 and the director's cut brought in additional 63,178, according to estimates released by Korea Box Office Information System (KOBIS) on Monday.

The total number of viewers for the film is estimated to stand at over 7.4 million, making it the tenth most-watched Korean film of all time.


New film "Aeja", which opened on Wednesday, came in second with 301,818 viewers over the weekend and 389, 409 in total.

"The Case of Itaewon Homicide", a low-budget film starring Jung Jin-young and Jang Geun-seok, followed in third place with 214,799 viewers during the same period and 282,809 to date.

"Haeundae", another Korean summer blockbuster, trailed in fourth place with 115,276 for the weekend to gross 11,186,424 since its release in late July.


India's human drama "Black" also continued to remain strong, attracting 99,429 weekend viewers and 701,129 in total so far.
