Jang Keun-suk, Kim Ha-neul film sold to 9 countries

A Korean film starring Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk and actress Kim Ha-neul has been sold to nine countries in Asia, according to the film's distributor Lotte Entertainment.

A press release from Lotte announced on Thursday that Jang and Kim starrer "You Are My Pet" was purchased by Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

"Pet" is also scheduled to open in select theaters in Japan on January 12 of next year while the pic is set for a wide release in China in February or March.

"You Are My Pet," director Kim Byung-gon's first feature, follows the story of Ji Eun (Kim), a successful magazine editor, that decides to allow her brother's friend Kang In-ho (Jang) stay at her house as her pet instead of dating a guy.

The film, based on the Japanese comic titled "きみはペット," opened in Korea on November 10.
