Popular female group KARA’s latest Japanese single has debuted at second place on the prestigious Oricon chart.

According to the showings by the official website of Oricon Style on Thursday, KARA’s fourth Japanese single “Go Go Summer!” was ranked at No. 2 on Oricon's daily chart upon its release yesterday.

The record sold a total 45,590 copies within a day, coming behind the chart's topper Japanese artist Hey! Say! JUMP’s single “Over” which sold 113,554 copies the same day.

Two of the main songs in KARA's latest single including “Go Go Summer!” and “Girls Be Ambitious!” have also been selected as theme songs for the commercials to LG Electronics’ Smartphone “Optimus bright L-o7c” and Japanese hair color brand “Patty,” respectively.

KARA, composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market whose feat include becoming the first foreign female group in the Oricon's 43-year history to top the prestigious chart in the first week of releasing a single with their third Japanese single "JET COASTER LOVE" last April.

Meanwhile, the group announced via its official Japanese website earlier this month that they will hold a fan meeting in Japan on August 6.
