Korean rock band FTIsland's latest Japanese single has placed second on the prestigious Oricon music chart, according to their agency FNC Music on Thursday.


According to the Oricon’s daily singles chart as of April 20, FTIsland’s fourth single “SATISFACTION,” released on the same date, sold 17,665 copies to rank at the No. 2 spot on the chart after top Japanese artist Johnny’s.

"This is the first time FTIsland has come in second place on the Oricon chart," an official from FNC Japan was quoted as saying. "We feel that they have succeeded in reaching where they are now through their steady efforts and we will support all their upcoming activities."


Meanwhile, "SATISFACTION" is featured as the ending theme song for Japanese animation "toriko," which began its air on Fuji TV in early April. The single album also features two other tracks titled "Friends" and "I want" with the latter featuring rap by member Song Seung-hyun.

Composed of other members Lee Hong-gi, Lee Jae-jin, Choi Min-hwan, Choi Jong-hoon, FTIsland released their first album "Cheerful Sensibility" in 2007 and followed it up with several singles and studio albums including "Colorful Sensibility," "Cross and Change" and recently "beautiful journey."

They expanded their career into Japan in 2008 with two single albums “Flower Rock” and “Brand-new days" and has seen three of their singles rank within the top 10 slots of the Oricon albums chart.
