Jay Park’s new album receives 50,000 pre-orders
Former 2PM member Jay Park’s upcoming album received over 50,000 pre-orders, according to his agency Sidus HQ on Tuesday.
Sidus HQ explained through a press release today that pre-orders for Jay Park’s new mini-album “TAKE A DEEPER LOOK” has recently exceeded 50,000, leading album producers to prepare an additional 20,000 copies.
A Sidus HQ official, pointing out that it is highly unusual for an album to receive such a high number of pre-orders even before a sample of his music is out, expressed further anticipation for the record for when it goes on sale.
“The upcoming album will be a limited edition with a separate case and a diary that contains never-before-seen photographs,” the official added in the statement.
“TAKE A DEEPER LOOK,” which will encompass genres of hip-hop, dance and R&B among others, will go on sale on April 27.
The album will be formed of a total seven tracks including its title track “Abandoned,” as well as other songs including “Touch The Sky,” “Level 1000,” and “Don’t Let Go.”
Park, took part in producing and writing lyrics for the entire album as well as composing six out of seven songs.
Other notable musicians that took part in making the album include Kang Min-kyung from duo band Davichi, Dok2, The Quiett and composer Cha Cha Malone.
Park, whose Korean name is Park Jae-beom, debuted as a member of 2PM in 2008 but parted with the group early last year after stirring controversy over remarks he wrote regarding Korea during his trainee period.
He then kicked off his solo career late last year after signing with major talenthouse Sidus HQ and has released several single albums since.
