Korea's veteran trot singer Tae Jin-ah seems to be making headway into the Japanese music industry, topping Japan's music request chart this week.
The singer, who had recently announced he would expand his career into Japan, reached No.1 on Japan's cable request chart Tuesday with his debut single "I'm Sorry".
The 56-year-old singer has collaborated with famous songwriter Hama Keisuke, who has written hits for Korean-born enka singer Kye Eun-sook.
Tae Jin-ah, whose real name is Jo Bang Hun, is considered one of the most successful and long-running singers in Korea. He is the father of K-pop singer and songwriter Eru.
