Kuraki Mai to meet Korean fans in October

Japanese pop star Mai Kuraki has decided to visit Korea in October, according to a press release on Friday.

The singer, set to give her first concert in Seoul in November, decided to visit beforehand to meet with her fans, Mnet Media explained in the statement.

The press conference and showcase scheduled for October 7 was originally intended only for the media, but has reportedly been changed to include the fans at the singer's request.

At the event, she will put on a duet performance with J-pop star and Korean songwriter Song Yang-ha, who penned her previous No. 1 single "Beautiful".

Kuraki debuted in 1999 with the single "Love, Day After Tomorrow", which sold 1.4 million copies in Japan. Since then, she has released 32 single albums -- all of which placed within the top 10 of the Oricon charts -- plus nine studio albums and eight DVDs.

Her second best album "All My Best", released earlier this month, reached No. 1 on Japan's Oricon weekly albums chart.

Tickets for the event will be available to people who bought her best album at Seoul's Evan Records and those who were selected from websites www.auction.co.kr and www.yes24.co.kr.

The concert will take place at Seoul's Ax-Hall on November 14.
