Musiq Soulchild to hold 1st solo concert in Seoul

American soul artist Musiq Soulchild has announced that he will hold his first solo concert “Musiq Soulchild Live in Seoul” in Seoul on May 11.

The singer-songwriter, also known as Musiq for short, is set to meet his Korean fans through his first concert at the AX HALL in Seoul on May 11, a rep to his local promoter's S2 Entertainment told 10Asia in a phone interview on Tuesday.

The official added that they have sold out all the tickets during the first round of sales and will soon start the second round.

Being one of the biggest musicians in the genre of neo-soul, Musiq staged his first performance for Korean fans at a music festival with Korean artists Jay Park, Se7en and Big Bang's Taeyang in 2010.

Born Taalib Johnson, the soul guru made his first appearance on the music scene with his debut album “Aijuswanaseing” in 2000, which brought a fresh style of R&B and Soul music. Since then he has released several albums including “Juslisen” (2002), “Luvanmusiq” (2007), “OnMyRadio” (2008) and “MusiqInTheMagiq” (2011).
