Top Korean actors Ryoo Seung-bum and Han Suk-kyu are in talks to star in an upcoming film by director Ryoo Seung-wan, according to the movie's investor CJ E&M on Friday.

"Nothing has been finalized in casting actors Ryoo and Han though director Ryoo is currently preparing his movie 'Berlin' (translated titled)," an official with CJ told 10Asia over the phone, downplaying reports from earlier in the day that said both actors have been cast for the film.

The official then went onto explain that production and shooting for "Berlin" will begin once the cast has been finalized.

"Berlin" will follow the story of a North Korean soldier who embarks on an adventure after being kicked out of the North Korean Forces.

Ryoo, who made his debut in 2000 through the movie "Die Bad," is known for playing a wide variety of characters. He has since starred in "Arahan Jangpung Daejakjeon" (2004), "Crying Fist" (2005), "The Beast and the Beauty" (2005), "The Unjust" (2010) and in "Suicide Forecast" (2011).
