SHINee greeted by 800 fans in U.K.

Several hundred of fans in the United Kingdom greeted idol group SHINee who visited the country for a private showcase over the weekend, revealed the group’s agency SM Entertainment on Monday.

According to a press release by SM, five-member boy band SHINee who held a showcase at Abbey Road Studios in London on June 19, ahead of their official debut in Japan, was greeted by some 800 fans from across Europe who cheered for them outside the venue despite the event being reserved only for media-related personnel.

Fans adorned themselves with Korea's national flag Taegukgi, held up placards with words of support for SHINee, sang SHINee’s hit songs and occasionally chanted phrases such as “We want SHINee.”

They cheered even louder when the boys came out of the studio to wave hands to the fans as a sign of appreciation.

Abbey Road Studios is best known for being the place where the legendary band the Beatles recorded their song.

It is also where several world-renowned musicians including Stevie Wonder, Bryan Adam, Coldplay and Robbie Williams have held live performances

The boys will take off on their nationwide fan meeting in Japan titled "SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION” to the Japanese cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo starting July, while their recent photographs of their showcase held in the Abbey Roads Studio can be found at SM Town’s official facebook.

Composed of members Key, Minho, Jonghyun, Onew and Taemin, SHINee is one of Korea's most popular male groups who made their debut in 2008 under major talenthouse SM Entertainment. They have produced a number of hit songs including "Reply," "Ring Ding Dong" and "LUCIFER."

The group’s first Japanese single “Replay” is set to hit stores on June 22 while the ringtones versions of their songs “Replay” and “Hello” have already topped the daily chart of Japan's biggest mobile website RecoChoku upon their releases in late April and mid-May, respectively.
