Girl group After School member UIE has been cast in a drama set to go on air in August.
An official with the show's producer said Tuesday that UIE will appear in a KBS' weekend series, set to premiere in August, whose title can be translated into "Golden Pond."
She had also shot a show called "Birdie Buddy" last year in which she was the main female character but the series was not allotted a time slot by broadcaster MBC.
Directed by Ki Min-soo and written by Lee Jung-sun, "Golden Pond" will tell of a couple who runs a farm in the vicinity of the city of Seoul and their four sons.
After School, composed of eight other members, made their debut in January 2009 and have produced several hit songs including "Ah," "Because of You" and "Bang!"
They are currently promoting "Shampoo," the title track to their first full-length album "VIRGIN" released in late April and are gearing up for their official debut in Japan this year.
