The first Japanese single by Korean idols Super Junior has placed in the No. 2 spot on Japan's prestigious Oricon weekly music chart.

Oricon's official website showed on Tuesday that Super Junior's album "BONAMANA" came in second place on Oricon's weekly chart in just a week of its release in the country on June 8.

The single, which had already debuted in second place on Oricon's daily chart, is the Japanese version of the group's hit tune "BONAMANA" which was first released in Korea in May of last year and topped several major album charts in Korea as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

"BONAMANA" had also ranked first in terms of ringtone downloads on the daily chart for Japan’s biggest mobile service website RecoChoKu since becoming available on May 18 and has been played as a commercial song for Japan's convenience store franchise Circle K Sunkus.

In the meantime, a special concert expo featuring Super Junior's "SUPER SHOW 3 in JAPAN" will be held at the Tokyo International Forum for two days starting July 2, while the movie version of their show will be screened nationwide in Japan from July 2 to 15.

Super Junior, often referred among fans as "SuJu" in short, made their debut in late 2005 as one of the most popular boy bands in the world, releasing a number of hit songs such as "Don't Don," "Sorry Sorry" and "BONAMANA" which have topped a number of music charts in Korea and in the Asian region.
