Super Junior debuts at No. 2 on Japan's Oricon chart
Korean idol group Super Junior has debuted at second place on Japan's prestigious Oricon chart.
According to the official website of the chart, the boy group sold a total 27,168 copies of their Japanese debut single “BONAMANA” released yesterday to land at the No. 2 spot on Oricon's daily chart.
The single contains the Japanese version of the group's previous hit song "BONAMANA" which was first released in Korea in May of last year and topped several major album charts in Korea as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
The song had already ranked first in terms of ringtone downloads on the daily chart for Japan’s biggest mobile service website RecoChoKu since becoming available on May 18 and is currently a commercial song for Japan's convenience store franchise Circle K Sunkus which Super Junior endorses.
Super Junior, often referred among fans as "SuJu" in short, made their debut in late 2005 as one of the most popular boy bands in the Asia region with numerous hit songs such as "Don't Don" and "Sorry, Sorry" under their belt.
The group is currently set for their concert in Europe "SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS" as part of SM Town’s worldwide concert tour, which will take place at Le Zenith de Paris, France on June 10 and 11.
