"Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild” pre-sold to 3 countries at Cannes
Korean animation "Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild" was pre-sold to three countries at the film market of the 64th annual Festival de Cannes, according to the movie's producer Myung Film.
An official from Myung confirmed with 10Asia on Thursday that the distribution rights for "Leafie" was sold to Turkey, Indonesia and China at Cannes' film market last month, while several other countries have shown interest in the movie as well.
Based on the popular children's novel of the same name, "Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild" tells the adventure of a hen who leaves her chicken farm to realize her dream of hatching her own egg.
The film, helmed by director Oh Sung-yoon and voiced by actress Moon So-ri, Yoo Seung-ho Choi Min-sik and Park Chul-min, will open simultaneously in Korea and China on July 28.

Moon is well known in particular for her 2002 film “Oasis,” Yoo for his 2002 film “The Way Home,” Choi from 2003 film “Old Boy” and Park as a supporting actor on various roles in many major Korean films.
