BEAST dominates weekend TV chart with “Fiction”

Boy group BEAST swept weekend TV music programs once again with their song “Fiction.”

“Fiction,” the title track to the group’s first full-length album “Fiction and Fact,” was named a winner on KBS’ live music show “Music Bank” last Friday, and on SBS’ show “Inkigayo” aired on Sunday.

“Fiction,” which is a sentimental dance piece is a song about a guy who, after going through a painful break up, creates a happy fiction in his head to assuage the pain.

This is also the song’s fourth win on the televised music show after triumphing on music cable channel Mnet’s “M! CountDown” show two consecutive weeks.

It adds up to a total fifth win for BEAST, given their earlier victory on “Music Bank” two weeks ago with their other song “On Rainy Days,” also included in the same album.

Other singers that appeared on the same live music shows during the weekend were Baek Ji-young, FTIsland, Heo Young-saeng, Jewelry, Jang Woo-hyuk, December, Secret, A PINK, 5dolls, Boy Friend, Sunny Hill, Clover, N-Train and Turtles.

Meanwhile, “Music Bank” is set to hold a large-scale concert in Japan titled “K-POP Festival Music Bank In Tokyo” at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo on July 13.

The concert, hosted by KBS and supervised by KBS Japan, is to be participated by many K-pop artists either active or currently preparing to advance to the country including TVXQ, KARA, Girls’ Generation, 2PM, BEAST, 4minute, U-Kiss, IU, Secret, Rainbow, INFINITE, Park Hyun-bin, RaNia and X-5.
