Jang Keun-suk kicks off Asia tour in Singapore over weekend

Singer and actor Jang Keun-suk kicked off the first show of his Asia tour in Singapore over the weekend, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Tuesday.

Tree J. announced in a press release that Jang met with over 1,500 of his fans for the "2011 Jang Keun-suk Asia Tour <THE CRI SHOW>" held at the University Cultural Centre in Singapore on April 23.

He began the show with his Japanese debut single "Let Me Cry," which will go on sale on April 27, and continued with his hit songs including "Please, My Bus," "Hello Hello" and "My Precious."

Meanwhile, a day before the concert, Jang attended a press conference with Singaporean media and held an autograph and photo session with his fans afterwards.

"It was great meeting my fans in Singapore and I will never forget those fans that showed their support by greeting me at the airport and coming to my concert," Jang said in the statement. "I felt I am truly a happy and blessed person."

Jang will visit several other countries in the region for his tour including Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and Shanghai.

After making his debut in the entertainment industry at the early age of five as a catalog model, Jang has been one of the most popular Korean celebrities in Asia after starring in SBS hit series "He's Beautiful" as the eccentric lead singer of the idol group A.N.JELL.

He most recently made his comeback to the small screen in “Marry me, Mary” as Indie rocker Mugyul and embarked on a showcase tour in several cities in Japan late last year.

He is currently working on his upcoming movie based on Japanese manga "きみはペット" (You’re My Pet)" opposite actress Kim Ha-neul and set to release his Japanese debut single "Let Me Cry" tomorrow.
