Wheesung takes 1st win on Mnet’s cable music show

Wheesung’s “Heartsore Story” took the win on this week’s music cable channel Mnet’s music show on Thursday.

The ballad singer, who celebrated his first win in four years, shed few tears after being named yesterday's winner. “I’m so overwhelmed that I don’t know what to say. I pass this honor to my agency and my beloved fans,” he said upon receiving his trophy.

“Heartsore Story,” singing of one bidding farewell to a lover, is from Wheesung’s third single album that incorporates a strong beat into a melody played by an orchestra and is a collaboration of composer Kim Do-hoon and lyricist Lee Sang-ho.

Wheesung’s performance that day was also accompanied Jun-hyung from boy band BEAST who did a featuring for the song.

Balladeer K.will’s “My Heart Beating” and male trio SG Wannabe’s “Just” took second and third place, respectively.

Meanwhile, other singers that showed up on the same stage yesterday were CNBLUE that was highlighted for their comeback stage as well as Big Bang, LPG, ChiChi, G.NA, Girls’ Day, ZE:A, Hangroo
