TV series “Midas” presold to Malaysia, Singapore
SBS drama “Midas” had been pre-sold to two countries overseas, according to the show’s broadcaster SBS on Thursday.
An official at SBS told 10Asia over the phone today that the 20-part series had been sold to Singapore and Malaysia even before going on air a month ago.
“Midas” written by scenarist Choi Wan-kyu and helmed by Kang Shin-hyo and Lee Chang-min, stars actor Jang Hyuk and actresses Kim Hee-ae and Lee Min-jung.
The story portrays the rise and fall of an ambitious young lawmaker whose greed for money and power ultimately leads to his doom against the backdrop of a conglomerate family whose children are fighting to become the successor to their father.
Jang is currently playing a former fund manager and genius lawyer named Kim Do-hyun, who strikes up a deal with a brilliant business woman named Yoo In-hye (played by Kim) and breaks up with his fiancee Lee Jung-yeon (Lee) in the process of pursuing his dreams.

The show will air till late April and is currently shown in the Mondays and Tuesdays prime time slot.
