K-pop theater to open in Tokyo in May
The first exclusive theater for K-pop will open in Japan, according to several Japanese media outlets including Sankei Sports on Wednesday.
Sankei Sports reported today that “K THEATER TOKYO,” a theater room exclusively for K-pop performances, will open in Ebisu Garden Place in Tokyo around May.
The theater, with 200 seats, will be single-floored to enhance the sense of unity the audience feels with the performer.
The paper added that the first K-pop group to stand on its stage will be 21-member boy band A-Peace.

The establishment of K THEATER TOKYO is seen to be in line with the increased demand for K-pop music in the country with many K-pop groups having advanced to Japan in recent years such as girl groups KARA and Girls Generation and boy bands TVXQ and BEAST, which have enjoyed huge success in the country.
