Songstress Kim Bo-kyung’s debut song “Day by Day” took first place on music cable channel Mnet’s weekly singles chart during the week of January 31 to February 6, climbing up a step from the previous week.

The song which is the title track to singer Kim's first mini-album "The First Day" released on January 24, is a ballad that expresses one's sorrow after a break up.

Kim, 20, debuted after appearing on Mnet's singing competition "Superstar K2" last year through which she became popular after singing Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You."

Meanwhile, three-member girl group SeeYa’s good-bye song “You’re Too Wonderful For Me” which topped the chart last time, went down a step to land on second place.

The song, one of the two title tracks to the group’s final album “See You Again," is a rhythmical ballad that incorporates sounds from the piano and stringed instruments.

Third on the chart was G.NA’s “Black & White,” a song that tells of two lovers who are different in character like the colors black and white.

Coming from her first full-length album of the same name released in mid-January, the song climbed up three steps from the previous week to reach its current position.

Meanwhile on the albums chart, GD&T.O.P’s first album “GD&T.O.P” which contains various hip-hop songs, topped the chart after gaining a step from the last week of January.

Consequently, Seungri's first mini-album "V.V.I.P" which was the previous winner, got pushed back to take second place.

GD, T.O.P. and Seungri are all part of the five-member male group Big Bang, currently pursuing their singing careers as either a solo or duo but are also preparing for a comeback as a whole group by late this month.

SeeYa’s “See You Again” released on January 21, again took the third place on the chart for second consecutive week.
