SeeYa’s goodbye song tops Mnet singles chart

Female group SeeYa’s new song “You’re Too Wonderful For Me” has emerged a winner on music cable channel Mnet’s weekly singles chart during the final week of January.

The song, which is one of the title tracks to SeeYa’s final album “See You Again,” is a rhythmical ballad that incorporates sounds from the piano and stringed instruments. The song climbed 19 steps from the previous week.

“Day by Day,” a ballad by female singer Kim Bo-kyung from her EP album "The First Day," debuted at No.2 on the same chart. This is the first mini-album by Kim who debuted through Mnet’s music reality show Superstar K2 last year.

Third on the chart is ballad singer K.will’s “Dumbfounded,” from the male balladeer's digital single of the same name, shot up 22 steps from the third week of this month.

The song, featuring hip-hop duo Supreme Team and girl group Sistar, is a medium-tempo ballad with elements of acid jazz and hip-hop.

Meanwhile, on the albums chart, Seungri’s first mini-album “V.V.I.P.” and GD & T.O.P.’s first album “GD&T.O.P.” continued to hang on to their places at No. 1 and 2 on the chart for the second consecutive week.

Seungri, GD and T.O.P. are all part of boy band Big Bang, currently treading new waters via individual or unit activities but they are set to return as a five-member group later this month.

Third on the albums chart is SeeYa’s good-bye album once again, which climbed 16 steps from last time.

The album, released late last month is the final album by the three-member female group who officially announced their disbandment after five years of activity, in December last year.

The record is composed of 13 of SeeYa’s past hit songs plus two new songs “You’re Too Wonderful For Me” and “The Last” that are both title tracks.
