Korean idol group SHINee took their first win on music shows with their new single over the weekend.

The boy band took the top prize on Sunday's "Inkigayo" with their latest single "Ring Ding Dong", beating out other K-pop artists such as last week's winner Kim Tae-woo, Leesang, MC Mong, Park Hyo-shin, SS501 and Wheesung.

"Thank you so very much," the group said in their acceptance speech. "Mr. Lee Soo-man, we love you. And we are very grateful to all the fans."

The five-member boy band also took the No. 1 spot on KBS2 TV's "Music Bank" on Friday.

SHINee, one of the most popular idol groups in Korea, has had several K-pop hits, most notably their debut single "Older Girl, You're So Pretty" and the recent chart topper "Juliette" earlier this year.

They released their third mini-album "2009, Year Of Us" less than two weeks ago, which has been topping various music charts in Korea.
