Korean actress Son Yejin has been appointed as a special guest judge for a short film festival in Korea, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The actress will be the guest judge for the "Face in Shorts Award" at the 7th Asian International Short Film Festival (AISFF), to be held November 5 thru November 10, the statement said.

AISFF's unique "Face in Shorts Award' is handed to the best Korean performer in short films of the year that made it to the finals. Every year, an actor representing the Korean film industry and the previous year's winner select the winner together.

"As an actor, I am overwhelmed to be given such an important responsibility right after I finished filming 'Into The White Night'", said the 27-year-old actress. "But I look forward to taking part in the world of short films where I can experience colorful ideas and different sensibilities."

Son debuted in 2001 in the MBC drama "Delicious Proposal" and has appeared in many successful TV dramas and movies since, including TV series "Summer Scent", "Alone in Love" and the film "The Classic" in 2003.
