Korean actor Kim Rae-won officially started serving Korea's mandatory military duties today at the Seoul Namsan Library.

After entering the army on August 13 and completing a four-week training session on Thursday, the 28-year-old actor started working at the library as a public service officer.

A source close to the star said that Kim "was in good shape when he left the training camp yesterday" and that "[we] do not know what kind of position he'll hold [at the library]",

Kim became a household name in 2003 with MBC's hit drama "Rooftop Room Cat" and appeared as a chef in SBS's "Gourmet" , which aired in other Asian countries earlier this year.

He was originally cast as soccer player Cha Bong-goon in MBC's "No Limit", which premiered in Korea on Wednesday, but dropped out in order to fulfill his military obligations, and was replaced with idol group TVXQ leader U-know Yunho.
