Actress Kim named PR ambassador for French culture

Korean actress Kim Ah-joong has been named the publicity ambassador for French culture this year, according to the star's agency on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old actress will promote French culture in Korea by participating in France Express, an annual cultural festival hosted by the French Embassy and the French Cultural Center in Korea, Yedang Entertainment said in a press release.

"As the entertainment industry's fashionista with exceptional sense in fashion, we believe Ms. Kim Ah-joong is the appropriate person to promote French culture as her taste will integrate with the sensitivity of French art", the French Embassy was quoted as saying.

The actress will carry out her publicity activities starting Wednesday until the end of December, promoting various cultural events including theater, art exhibitions and concerts.

Kim gained fame throughout Asia with her lead role in film "200 Pounds Beauty" in 2006.
